2019 ESAM Annual General Meeting and CleanEarth Technologies Site Tour
The Environmental Services Association Maritimes (ESAM), in partnership with the 2019 RPIC Federal Contaminated Sites (FCS) Regional Workshop, will be hosting ESAM’s AGM at the Halifax Convention Center in Halifax, NS on June 3rd, 2019 at 1:30 pm. The AGM will be followed by a site tour (via tour bus) of the CleanEarth Technologies facility and presentation of CleanEarth Technologies’ current work on PFAS, PFOS and PFOA remedial activities in Australia.
Following a lengthy and rigorous R&D program, CleanEarth has developed a treatment solution for soils impacted with PFASs, PFOS and PFOA. These synthetically-produced chemicals have been around since the 1950s and used in numerous applications world-wide, such as fire-fighting foams, floor polishes, and metal plating. PFOS is listed as a Persistent Organic Pollutant because of its significant adverse effects on human health and the environment. In Australia, CleanEarth has teamed with Ventia, Australia’s largest environmental services provider, to remediate sites in Australia that have been contaminated by past fire-fighting training activities.
